Was I charged twice for my order?Updated a year ago
When you place your order on our site, we only receive an initial authorization on your credit card. This is not a charge, and no money is removed from your account at that time. It does appear on your credit card statement, however (often marked as "pending").
When we process your order and send it to our engraving or shipping department, we finalize the transaction. It is only at this time that your card is charged against that authorization. The authorization will then disappear.
In some cases, both the charge and the authorization may both be listed on your credit card statement while the charge is finalized. This does not mean the charge has been put through twice. It's just the way some banks show process transactions.
Rest assured, there are safety measures in place that prevent our system for charging one penny more than your order total.
Note: If your item is out of stock or you cancel your order before it is processed, the authorization will disappear from your account after a few days without a final charge being put through. (Number of days will vary according to your bank or credit card company's policies.)
